Glorious gingerbread

We have been learning all about measurement this week both inside and outside of the classroom.

One of the key skills we have been practicing is the ability to estimate the heights and lengths of certain objects.

Using what you have been learning about this week, can you estimate the height of this gingerbread house?

Don't forget your units of measurement and make sure you explain your estimation.

    1. This is a good effort Yogitha. But how do you know what 4cm looks like? What do you have to compare it to?

    1. This is a good effort Najia. But remember we need to use our prior knowledge to make estimations. How do you know what 4cm looks like? What do you have to compare it to?

    2. i think we can compare it to a ruber because you can get out a ruler and measure it and if it is wrong you can measure something else and if that is 4cm then you can get a ginger braed house and see if it is 4cm if it is not then i will do another guess. my other guess will be 6cm.

  7. I estimate that the ginger bread has to be about 20 cm ,because a ruler is 30 cm and a smaller ruler is 15cm ,so it has to be in the middle of that.
