I often hear people say that they are too busy to read, but can never understand what they mean. On my way to school I often read while waiting for the bus and carry on when I climb onboard and take a seat. Come to think of it, there are so many places that I love to read: sitting on a bench in the park, lying on the beach, lounging on the sofa and most of all, just before I go to sleep in bed.Where do you like to read the most?
At the moment I'm reading Coming to England by Floella Benjamin. The book is an autobiography about the hardships Floella and her family went through when she immigrated to England as a 10 year old child in 1960. Floella was a popular children's TV presenter when I was a boy, so I really wanted to find out about her life.
What books by black authors are you reading in class at the moment?

There is an author I now and his name is Dick King Smith and he got an award for every book he sold. Before he was an author he was a farmer.

ReplyDeletemy favorite book is diary of a wimpy kid by Jeff Kinney because of the words he chooses instead of boring words.Jeff Kinney is 45 now and was born in the 19 of February 1971 Washington Maryland.
ReplyDeleteI read at home before bed or when I have nothing to do. I read when I am on the bus or at school if I can. But mostly at home. We are reading A Thief in The Village by James Berry. It is a fantastic book and I like it because it is a story with lots of morals in it. Morals are a lesson to learn from a story and each one is different. This story has a lot of morals because of how it is set. My favourite black author is Benjamin Zephaniah even though he writes poetry. His poetry is so funny even if he is writing about the environment.

ReplyDeleteI'm The book that I'm reading in class is A thief in the village I like it because it's different to a lot of other books by James Berry because everything is a misterious and very sucpicous also filled with exciting moments that always surprise you. My favourite place to read is out side the library because the surprising water fountains go off and sprinkle in the air and there is always time to read Caribbean and African books from all over the world.

I like the book because it describes how Nenna and Man-Man are searching a thief in the village.My favourite black author is John Steptoe because he writes amazing books fron Nigeria and one of his books that I like is Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters and it's a African tale , another tale I like is Snow White because it tells us that you have to recognise your stepmother and try to fing what your stepmother is trying to trick you with and its not by a black author.
ReplyDeleteWhere I like to read is at the park because you get a chance to relax and hear the beautiful sounds of nature, the bairds chirping the squirrels raceing around the park. I love reading in autumn time because you see and the different coulered leafs scattered around the park. The book we are reading in class is A thief in the village by James Berry. We as a class is reading the book called the thief and the village and other stories it has a moral to it and it is don't dudge a book by its cover.l like the book because it is telling you to not dudge a book by its cover which means don't look at someone and think they are bad even if they don't bath doesn't mean so it couled be somebody else .but in the story a villager was talking about a homeless man but at the end it was the villager who was the one that was stealing the coconuts . Alice walker wrote a book called the colour purple she won the book award

I like to read in my secret hideout because it's more quiet in there then the real world. Now I'm reading a book from school,I read 2 books a day,for half and hour so I spend and hour in my secret hide out reading. At class were now reading A Thief in the Village by James berry. What I really like about the book is every time the perents say no to everything is because they don't have money. My favourite black author is James berry because his story's are amazing!
