Specialist vocabulary


When we are discussing parliament, the Mayor, and the government we use a lot of specialist language.
Can you think of any examples of specialist vocabulary that we might use?
Can you explain it in your own words?
What do you think about other children's explanations?

    A election is when the public vote for MP's and choose who they want to be their mayor.

    A debate is when people gather around and discuss a subject and mostly argue about who's right or wrong.

  4. Integrity means honest and noble.An example is when Zac Goldsmith was criticizing Sadiq Khan that he is Muslim and he would try to steer London to trouble,Sadiq stayed calm with integrity.

Implement means to put a desicion,idea or plan together.Sadiq Kha's implement on becoming mayor was decreasing housing prices, benefiting youngsters of London's future and making London safe from knife crime and make sure citizens are happy to live in London, a city Khan hopes to become a city free of crime.

  7. We also used vote and that means when people vote for who to become mayor or president ( only Londoners can vote). Long time ago women was not aloud to vote so they protested in the Houses of Parliament because it wasn't fair if only men voted

  9. vote: to vote is to put you hands up or write a mark on a piece of paper if you prefer one thing to another,for example lots of people voted for Sadiq khan than Zack goldsmith, and they announced it in a place called the city hall where the mayor works.

  10. Implement means to form a plan into action. Sadiq Khan is implementing a plan to try and make housing affordable for Londoners or trying to achieve that the youngsters of London have more opportunities.

    party, he is situated on the party.
