Prisoners of the Tower

Before half term Year 4 visited the Tower of London to learn all about the prisoners kept there during the Tudor times.

What type of prisoners were kept in The Tower of London? How were their conditions different to prisoners kept outside of the prison?

  1. Anne berlyine was kept in the prison because she was proven guilty of treesen and so an berlyine got a french sawed man to get a clean swipe to get her head chopped off quickly instead of HenryVIII men because they have to keep cutting before your head goes off. There condishons were different because they got to have a lot of parties and had huge rooms with fire places and big posh beds. The people out side have very small houses.

  2. Royal prisoners were kept in the Tower of London and the reason why is because the prison was large that it could even be a house and they get to wear fancy clothes unlike real prisoners have to wear baggy and rusty clothes. The royal prisoners conditions were better than the prisoners kept outside because they don't get treated very well and royal prisoners are treated like they might be treated at their home by their maids or servants.

Some of the rich people were kept on the Tower of London and if they betrayed any of the royal people they would be kept in prison for a long time. Rich people's cells were all clean were as poor people's cells were all dirty and rich people were allowed to see their family but poor people were kept in the prison.

The prisons that the Tower of London had was rich and poor prisons. The rich people would have a place to write, a fire place to keep them warm and they were treated like they were at home.Poor prisoners would be chained up and the bars would be rusty and the guards would use a rack to stretch out the poor prisoners lungs and heart out.The conditions were not equally fair because the guards respected the rich but tortured the poor even though they are not wealthy like rich people.

  12. The rich people in prison were treated like they were still rich. Poor people were treated very badly in prisons but the rich people had nice clothes and shoes. The poor people were cleaning the prison cells and the whole building because it was bad and stinky. They had to brush the floor and they had to clean the dirty cages in stead of prison cell.

  15. In class we have been learning about the prison cells in the old times and we saw the difference between rich ones and poor ones but nowadays you go in any prison we have no difference. In the old times the differences were that the poor ones only had 2 meals a day but rich ones had as much as meals as they wanted . poor people had chains on their foot but rich people didn't .
