Last night a pupil in Year 5 commented that she couldn't think of any maths to do with Halloween.
How about these?
Last night I hollowed out a pumpkin and placed it outside my front door for Halloween.
1. Estimate how many seeds you think I found inside.
2. How much do you think my pumpkin weighed before and after?
3. What do you think is the circumference of the pumpkin?
When you have finished answering them, post your own maths problems about Halloween for everyone to solve.
1.i think there are 32
ReplyDelete2.i think it weiged 1k
3.i think it was round
1.I think there are 10 seeds because if it was 9 then the seeds would be less and there not be enough pumpkins so that is why i think that. 2.I think the pumpkin weighed 11kg because the way it looks tells me that it weighs 11kg and also the size. 3.I think the circumference of the pumpkin is around the shape of an ovel .
ReplyDeleteMy approximation is 51 seeds that were carved out the pumkin. I guess the pumkin would be around in between 80kg and 40kg.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think the circumference is?
DeleteI think there are 76 seeds because it lookes like it I can't count
ReplyDelete1. I think there are approximately 29 seeds that Mr Highman found in the pumpkin
ReplyDelete2. I think that your pumpkin might have weighed 1.42kg before you carved it and after you hollowed it i think it weighed 1kg
3. I predict that the circumference of the pumpkin is 25cm
I think there were approximately 37 seeds in the pumpkin before the weighi or the pumpkin was 1.00 kg when it got cut its weight was o .57 kg
ReplyDelete1 I think there are appropriately 39 seed In the pumpkin
ReplyDelete2 i think that the pumpkin might weigh 1.55 before you chopped it but I think when it was chopped it weighed 2kg
3 I think that the circumference of the pumpkin is 30cm
1 I think there is 37 seeds
ReplyDelete2 I think the first pumpkin weight 2.68 and second one weight 4kg
I think they is 40 seeds in the pumpkin and I think it it weights 4kg
ReplyDeletethere are 39 seed in the pumpkin and I think that it weights 2kg
