I know if a number is a multiple of 10 because it has a 0 in the units column. Therefore, I know that 10 is a factor of 476,910 because of the 0 in the ones column.What rules of finding factors do you know?

ReplyDeleteI know if a number is divisible by 5 because it ends in 5 or 0. I also know if it is a multiple of 9 because the sum has to be a multiple of 9, you do the same process with times 3 but it has to be a multiple of 3.

The rule for 3 is that the sum of the number is a mutiple of 3
The rule for 2 is that the unit is even[2,4,6,8,0]
I know 48602 is a multiple of 2 and 4 because the whole number is even exeped 0 because that's a odd and even number even a square number.

ReplyDelete3 is a factor of 34713 because if I add all the digits together it makes 18 which is a multiple of 3 because 6x3=18.
4 is not a factor of 634 because the last two digits show the numbers 3 and 4.
I know that 3412 is a factor of 2 because every time it has to end in 0,2,4,6 or 8 to be a factor of 2

A factor is something that can be divisible by most numbers
