Math Curse


Year 5 based some Maths lessons on a book called Math Curse by  Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith
The story was about a pupil being affected by the Maths curse and seeing Maths problems everywhere.

    1. Sahayla, if I have 30 children in my class and want them in rows of 6, I am effectively 'sharing' them in to groups of 6. What operation will I need to use?

  4. I brought a packet of 60 sweets into schooll for me and my friend mt techer finds 30 and at the end of the day gives me 20.
    How many sweets do I have?
    Now I have. Sweet my mum gives me enough money too buy another back.

  6. You may be a shopkeeper when you are older and someone will buy 3 peppers, 5 carrots, 2 coconuts and a large cauliflower. Peppers are £8, Carrots are £4 and that cauliflower is £14. But you have a half price sale. How much is it?
