Runaway story

'If he tried to leave the men would find him and take him back to Nick, Jim was sure of it. There was no escape, ever.

But Jim did try to escape one night. He had been living with Nick nearly a year before his chance came.' (p.138)

Complete this section of the book Street Child. What might happen next?

Write it in a similar style to how the story has been written so far.

Rambashi's recipes

We've now made two of the delicious dishes available at Rambashi's Jungle Grill. Think back to the menu you designed. Which of the courses would you choose to add to Rambashi's recipe book?
Can you write out the recipe so we can try making it?

Don't forget to include a list of ingredients with the quantities you would need and a clear, step-by-step method. How about serving suggestions at the end?

Anyone for tennis?

(No real names have been used. Remember, do not name children in blog posts)

Only two boys and two girls can play tennis.

Jimi said: 'I will only play if Jennie plays.'
Jennie said: 'I won't play if Ben is playing.'
Ben said: 'I won't play if Jonny or Gemma plays.'
Jonny said: 'I will only play if Sarah plays.'
Sarah said: 'I don't mind who I play with.'

Which two boys and which two girls play tennis?

Frozen with fear ...

The last pirates in the line, still grumbling, bumped into those in front, who stood behind Rambashi, transfixed with fear. "Oh no! Ssh! Don't move."

What do you think has happened? What has shocked the men so much?  What is going to happen next?

Continue writing the story. Think about the work we have done on the setting they are in, to help you think of ideas.  What will become of the firework maker's daughter?
